EDITION: From the edition of 1000. There was also an edition of 200 proofs on Velin Arches paper hand signed by the artist. These sell in the neighborhood of $15,000.

NOTES: In the aftermath of the Second World War Picasso joined the communist party and was active in promoting its activities through his art. The Newspaper "Le Patriot" was a supporter of this ideology and Picasso made a number of lithographs and Linocuts which were published by this organization amongst which was our work - "La Danse des Faunes". This was sold to raise funds for the communist party. Picasso's activities in this period are detailed in the excellent work "Picasso et la Presse"
