This exquisite Murano glass bird was designed by artist Bruno Saetti for Ferro and Lazaarini in the mid-1950s. It is nearly 16" tall and weighs an impressive 10 lbs.
Notable details include controlled bubbles within the bird's puffed out breast, diamond quilting on the back and sides, and a beautiful twist technique on the base. It is hand etched on the base "Prof. Bruno Saetti / A Carrara / Ferro e Lazzarini / Murano" (Carrara is the glassblower who executed this piece based on Saetti's design.)
A real statement piece!
